Fall Spruce Up

I love summer as much (ok maybe even more) than the next guy, but with temperatures freaking HOT around here this summer, I was thrilled when fall finally decided to arrive in the 757 this weekend. With our upcoming party, I had some shopping to do anyway, so I headed out Saturday morning, and ended up coming home ready to decorate our house for fall. I have always liked the idea of adding bits of seasonal decor, but have never gotten around to it. Well, not this year...this is what the house looks like now:

The two vine pumpkins (one on the console table and one on the mantle) were each purchased at Target for $2.50! I had the vases on the mantle (thanks, G) and just filled them with pinecones, leaves, and cinnamon sticks...again Target. The brown twigs in the console table's came from AC Moore for $3.99. Everything else we already owned and either had in place or rearranged. So, for about $20, our house feels festive, fresh, and fallish.

What do you all think? Do you add seasonal touches or just keep it simple year round? Post a comment; let me know!
