Today marks two years since we moved into our house. I really can hardly believe it. Just to put it in to perspective when we moved in, we were still childless (I was VERY pregnant, but still), and now two years later, this house is filled up with not just us, but our two beautiful boys + happy cockapoo. Crazy, huh?!?
In honor of the day, I thought it would be fun to go on a little tour of the abode. I did the same thing last year (which you can check out here), but it's really amazing how much work First up, the front of the house:
Accomplished: landscaping, flag, seasonal decor
Goals: new house numbers, lighting update, landscaping (yeah, it may have to be professionally done), shutters
And then the entrance:
Accomplished: new gallery wall (which you can't see very well in this pic)
Goal: redo coat area (need an L for Levi)
To the right is the dining room (with its Valentines decor still in place):
Accomplished: new rug
Goal: chandelier instead of fan (I loathe that fan!)
Connected to the dining room is the kitchen:
Accomplished: nothing I can think of!
Goal: open shelves between cabinets in bottom picture, artwork/decor update, island, replace nipple lights
As you walk out the kitchen, you enter the living room:
Accomplished: mantle mirror, tv console, pillows, gallery frames
Goal: curtains
And out back behind the living room is the screened-in porch:
Accomplished: nothing again
Goal: total re-do!!!
OK, heading back inside, to the left of our kitchen is the boys' bathroom:
Accomplished: some updated art, towel hooks
Goals: better sunburst mirror, shelving in nook for linen closet
Across from the bathroom is Levi's nursery:
Accomplished: total re-do!
Goals: nada!
Next to his nursery is our bedroom (pardon the laundry, laptop, and cockapoo!):
Accomplished: FLOR tiles around bed, love note art
Goals: nothing really
And our master bath:
Accomplished: nada!
Goal: paint...and then possible decor updates?
OK back to the kitchen and now we're going to head right. First up is Colton's room:
Accomplished: total re-do!
Goal: nothing:)
Across from that is a guest bath:
Accomplished: nothing!
Goal: total re-do
Down the hall is our newly converted mud room:
Accomplished: stripes, coat hooks, bench
Goals: outdoor toy storage for boys, decor?
In the same hallway is the laundry closet (which is really hard to photograph due to angles!):
Accomplished: paint, curtains, cabinet, decor
Goals: trim counter, fridge, final clean up
And finally down there is the playroom:
Accomplished: total redo
Goal: smaller desk, sleeper sofa
Finally, I would really like to spray paint all of our mismatched door handles throughout the house. Obviously, you can't see them in the pictures, but they've got to go!
Whew...we're done!!! I knew it had been a busy year, but looking back at it all it really amazes me (yeah pat myself on the back a bit)! Now on to the next year and some new accomplishments...
Gorgeous home. It looks smaller from the outside but pretty big on the inside. My house is just like that! We have 2100 square feet but it looks like an itty bitty house from outside.
ReplyDeleteI've been in my home almost 6 years and haven't done nearly as much stuff as you. Oy.
