This past weekend, something miraculous happened...I fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans!!!! (did you think I was going to say something else?!?). But seriously y'all, this is a big deal to me.
You see, I have a history with these jeans. I actually bought them from J.Crew a few summers ago while Josh and I were taking a weekend trip to celebrate our anniversary. They were a little tight, but I swore I was going to lose weight...well, 2 days later, I found out I was pregnant with Colton. Needless to say, I didn't lose the weight and didn't get to wear my jeans! So, when I finally fit into them about 4 months after I had Colton, I was beyond thrilled! I wore them faithfully (and I am happy to report they got considerably looser) until I could no longer wear them when I was pregnant with Levi. Getting back into them has always been on my radar as a huge weight loss milestone...kind of like I'm finally back on track and while I have more weight that I want to lose at least now it's more "normal" and not pregnancy weight per se...does that make any sense?
So with last weekend's accomplishment, I figured now was a good time to do a weight loss progress tracker, especially because it has been another 5 weeks (20 weeks total!).
First up, the picture:
Goal: Well, this is a little complicated because my previous goal was to get into my jeans (which we already mentioned I accomplished), but I weigh more than I thought I would have to do so! So, we're going to just stick with that number as my next milestone...so about 8 pounds to go
Recent Progress: 5 more weeks have gone by, and I'm down 5 more pounds...consistency is the name of the game I guess...that or slow and steady wins the race...pick your adage!
Diet: In theory, I'm still doing Weight Watchers although I don't track what I eat each day...that's kind of my issue with Weight Watchers. If you do it long enough, and especially if you're like me and eat pretty much the same things most days, tracking it gets a little redundant...anyone else?
Exercise: Still following the same 5 day a week workout regimen. Up to running at 6.1 and still doing Level 3 of the 30 Day Shred. I'm definitely feeling fit:)
Struggles: Weekends are huge struggles for me. During the week, I have a pretty regular eating schedule and I stick to it, but on weekends, our days are much less regular. So, instead of eating meals, I end up doing a lot of snacking (not to mention the drinking at nights)...uh!
Successes: Obviously, the jeans are a pretty big deal to me, but in general, I feel like I have finally made that huge leap from post-pregnancy massiveness to toning up and slimming down. Don't get me wrong...I still have quite a bit of weight I want to lose and that lovely pregnancy belly fat is still hanging there, but when I get dressed now, I don't totally cringe. I can shop in normal stores (as in not maternity) and buy my regular sizes (for the most part). I guess that's a success, right?
