Mags and Me

As a first grade teacher, I should probably not admit that I do not enjoy reading (I know, blasphemy!). I don't know what it is, maybe a small case of adult-onset ADD, but as I have gotten older, my patience for a long read has shrunk. I do, however, enjoy magazines, and often "treat" myself at the grocery store by purchasing something that looks promising. Although I have tried many, I have a few regulars I tend to flock towards, as evidenced by the picture:
Unfortunately, though, while these magazines usually offer a few noteworthy items and moments of glory (with the exception of US Weekly...clearly essential information there), I usually "finish" (ie: get sick of) my magazine, feeling very disappointed. I still have yet to find a magazine that is everything I want it to be: easy to read, short and concise, bright and modern, implementable (not just pretty eye candy that goes well beyond my small budget), and preferably focused on home design with some dashes of cooking and parenting maybe thrown in. Is that too much to ask? Truthfully, Fresh Home is an intriguing find, but after just one issue, I am not quite ready to swear by it. Anyone have any recommendations out there? I'd love to hear them!
