Easiest Dessert Ever

Last week, Josh and I were planning on attending a grown up wine night/potluck dinner with some friends.  The theme was comfort food and I had said I would bring dessert, so I had turned to my favorite brownie recipe.  When our babysitting plans fell through (as in we didn't have one), I was left with two boxes of brownie mix and a few candy bars staring at me for a few so days.  Finally, I gave in and had to just make them.  These brownies are the perfect go-to when you need to make something that will impress, but you don't have the time to devote to making that treat (or when you want to gobble up something for yourself and don't have the patience...I've been there, so I won't judge). So, without further ado....

Toffee Brownies:
  • 2 packages brownie mix (I use Ghiradelli)
  • 3 Symphony bars
Preheat oven to 350.

Mix both boxes of brownie mix according to the directions on the box.  I like to combine the wet ingredients (eggs, oil, and water usually) before adding the mix.

Line 9 x 13 pan with foil paper and spray with cooking spray (this makes for easy brownie removal!).
Pour half of brownie mix into pan.

Lay Symphony bars on top of brownie mix.
Pour other half of mixture over Symphony bars. Lick bowl and spatula furiously.
Bake 45-50 minutes.
I promise if you try them, you will not be disappointed (and anyone you serve them to will be super impressed)!  And for even more fun, feel free to substitute the Symphony bars for other candy bars.  I've tried Reeses cups and they are equally as fabulous.  Let me know what you think:)
