Party Tidbits

One of my goals this year was to start putting more time and energy into my party planning business.  Thus far, I've had my hands in a few things and figured I should share them with you.
Up first was my niece's first birthday party.  My sister-in-law was pretty determined that she wanted to do most of it herself and wanted to keep it very low key.  As much as it pained me to not do Riley's big day up, I was  content to respect her wishes and take a back seat.  She did ask for my help with some digital stuff beforehand (the banners and chalkboard poster) and then asked me to come over the morning of to make good use of some streamers and tissue paper she had bought. Considering I am a major planner, I was a little stressed at how much more could have been done, but I think it turned out nice.  Plus, Riles seemed to love her big day...and that's really all that matters, right?!?

Next up was a baby shower for a girl that nannies for a family that my kids (and our friends) hang out with.  Because McKenzie is with the kids during the days, I (and many of my girlfriends) have gotten to know her well...and she even does my hair now!  Anyways, point is, her boss held a baby shower for her at Bonefish Grill a couple of weeks ago and enlisted my help with favor ideas and tags.  I gave her lots of suggestions and was pretty surprised when she went with a few of them (instead of just picking one as I would have done!). So, guests (including myself!) were lucky enough to go home with an individual bottle of wine to crack open when we get the news that baby Cohen has been born, some hand sanitizer for when we're lucky enough to hold him, some blue nail polish (she's expecting a boy in case that wasn't obvious), and some blue candies.  To go along with the boxes that had been purchased, I just made a simple onesie tag that read "boy oh boy."

And next up I have a rainbow art party.  I haven't gotten very far yet, but I did get started on the banner.  Of course, I had to go with chevron!
So that's what's been keeping me busy.  Looking forward to many more as the year goes by (fingers crossed)!
