Improving Ho-Hum with a Drum

C'mon...that's a fun little rhyme isn't it?  I know, it's actually totally lame, but I thought of it, so I HAD to use it.  By now, you're probably asking yourself, "what the h-e-double hockey sticks is she talking about?" and thinking "she should just get to the point," so here it is...
Our kitchen sink has a light that hangs above it.  I liked that it was there, but was not a huge fan of the shape of the light fixture.  I should have taken a picture of it before I switched out the shade, but I honestly thought I had one on file...oops.  Anways, the point is I bought a $7 small drum shade from Target and now my light looks like this...

Now if you know me at all, you probably have already realized that little shade will not be white for long.  I have not quite decided if I want to try to cover it with fabric like this other shade.  My other option I'm weighing is painting it in some fun pattern.  HMMM...so many options, so little time.  You'll have to stay tuned to see what I pick:)
